No one would have ever imagined that the Tab 2 7.0 would end up as most people’s primary phone. It sounded as a ridiculous idea which was dropped after many new phablets coming to the town. The Galaxy Tab 3 T211 is available for Rs.16, 900 for the Wi-Fi+3G version and Rs.12, 499 for the Wi-Fi only version.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T211 Specifications

The Tab 3 has a similar design with other Galaxy devices launched by Samsung. It has rounded edges and slightly concave sides. The bezel is a lot thinner, hence, reducing the overall height and width of the tab. It is slightly thinner at 9.9mm and a bit lighter at 306g. The front is fitted with a 7-inch TFT display having a 1024 x 600 resolution but doesn’t have any sort of scratch-resistant protection. The right side of the tablet resides the secondary microphone, the power lock key and the volume rocker. These keys are made of plastic. The bottom side contains the micro USB port at the centre, speaker and a microphone on either side of the USB port. At the top, only the 3.5mm audio jack is present. The back side looks quite glossy which makes it quite uninteresting. It also tends to gather a lot of fingerprints.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T211 Features

The Tab 3 T211 comes with a 7inch display TFT capacitive touch screen display. It has a resolution of 600×1024 pixels. The average pixel density of 170ppi makes the screen just about decent enough to use. The brightness levels are decent but other aspects like contrast, saturation and color-reproduction are a big let-down.

The Tab comes with Android Jelly Bean (4.1.2) and Samsung’s own TouchWiz user interface. The usual suite of apps is present right from Samsung Link, Samsung Apps, Group Play, S Voice, and all others. The T211 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor from Marvell – PXA988. It has 1GB of RAM for smooth usage of the apps. The graphics are provided by Vivante’s GC1000 Core GPU. The UI seems very sluggish and is definitely not very smooth in terms of its performance. Even a small operation takes some time.

The front camera has been upgraded from a VGA to a 1.3MP camera. Tab 3 comes with a 4000mAh non-removable Li-ion battery. The battery performance is quite good overall. With 3G on, it can last a whole day for moderate use. For heavy usage of the Tab, the battery life comes down significantly to 10 hours.
